How do I invite Arlie into one of my Slack channels?

In Slack, go to a public channel or private group that you want your Gmail account. Then either type '/invite @arlie' or click the channel settings icon and then 'Invite new members to join'. Choose 'Add new members to the existing channel', then search for 'Arlie' and click the 'Invite' button.

Once Arlie has been invited into your channel, it should present you with a welcome message and a link to 'Login with Google'.

How do I connect Arlie to one of my Gmail accounts?

If Arlie IS in your Slack channel:

Type '@arlie login', then click the presented 'Login with Google' link.

Or if Arlie is NOT in your Slack channel yet:

First you need to invite Arlie into the channel you want connected to Gmail. It can either be an existing channel or a new one. One nice convention is to create a new channel named specifically for this email account. I.e. 'Feedback Emails'.

Can I connect Arlie to multiple Gmail accounts?

Yes. You can connect Arlie to as many gmail accounts as you like. Use the command '@arlie login' to connect to a Gmail account. Keep in mind that you can only have Arlie connected to one Gmail account per Slack channel.

Arlie has stopped streaming in new emails - how do I fix this?

This could be caused by a few different reasons.

1: The setting to stream in new emails was turned off. This can be changed by typing '@arlie settings', clicking the 'Settings' button, then changing the 'Stream in new emails' to 'YES'.

2: Someone in the Slack channel with Arlie typed '@arlie logout' and Arlie is no longer connected to your Gmail account. Type '@arlie login' to add the account again.

3: Your team has used up your monthly emails and you must upgrade to the next usage pricing tier.

How do I turn off the email buttons (reply, forward, etc)?

Type the command '@arlie settings', click the presented 'Settings' button, then switch 'Show Email Buttons' to No.

How do I restrict certain users from accessing my sensitive/personal emails?

If you want to connect Arlie to a sensitive email account and want it to be restricted to a certain set of users, simply create a private Slack channel and invite those desired users into it. Do not create a public channel because any Slack user can join it.
